Update on Aylah's Speech

The day after I posted about Aylah's speech she decided to start babbling! She said la la la for several days, then today she said ma ma ma! I cannot even explain how happy we are to hear her sweet little voice!

Aylah is crawling! I thought that it was never going to happen because it took her so long to be able to sit. However, she has mastered crawling! She now is into all of Eben's things and she especially loves to get his sippies, which he hates!

Aylah is now doing Speech Therapy twice a month. To catch you up... Aylah had tubes put in on Halloween when she was 6 months. This is why she was not sitting well because her balance was off from all the fluid in her ears. So, after a few month I still had not noticed any improvements in her speech; no babbling or anything. We took her to an audiologist and to CDC (Child Development Center) and they evaluated her and it was determined that she needed Speech Therapy twice a month. She is still is not babbling very well, she doesn't put a consonant with a vowel. We took her again to the audiologist and she told us that she has very good hearing, she is just delayed from not being able to hear for 6 months. She loves her therapist and they have lots of fun. We are trying to teach her some sign language so that she will be able to have her needs met.

She is such a fun baby and we feel very blessed to have her in our lives!

Makin' A Mess!

I made chicken pot pie one night and we put it on a plate to see how she would do, and as you can see she licked the platter clean. It was everywhere in her hair, face, nose, just everywhere! The pictures just don't do justice on how messy she was!

Valentine's Day Fun

It snowed here on Valentine's Day and Eben wanted to go outside and play. It was really funny to watch him climb the big hill and slide down. He loves to play in the snow! Eben got a new Thomas the Train movie and some chocolate and Aylah got a little puppy and some shortbread cookies for Valentine's Day. I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day so Arlin and I don't get each other anything. However, he did run me a hot bubble bath and took the kids so that I could read a book in a nice, peaceful bath.
