We had a really great Christmas this year even though Arlin had to work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We went to my parents before Christmas and did the whole works, then on Christmas Eve when Arlin got home did our own, then on Christmas Day I took the kids to Arlin's parents. The kids got everything they wanted, imagine that! Santa brought Aylah a baby with a backpack and Eben got Stinky the Garbage Truck.

Arlin gave Grayson a beautiful blessing. Some of the things he blessed him with were that he would be an example to his brother and sister, that he would look up to them. That he may grow to be healthy and strong. That his family and Heavenly Father love him and that when he is ready to go to the temple that he may take a worthy wife. The people that we asked to help were, John Dale Fackrell, Tony Lallatin, Dale Barnes, Glade Erickson, and Bishop Milo Walker.

Grayson Porter Moen

We have a new arrival! Grayson Porter Moen was born October 6, 2010 at 1:53 pm. He weighed 7.6 lbs. and 19 1/4 in.

I had him at 37 and 4 days. I had been having contraction for several weeks and finally started having them again. Arlin had just gotten home from working nights and I told him that I thought we should go to the hospital and he just kinda looked at me, we had been there a lot the last few weeks. When we got to the hospital they checked me and I was at a 3 and 85% so they decided that they would do my c-section. It went a lot better this time, even though no one held my hand because they told Arlin that he could watch the procedure. Also, my mom was able to be there this time too.

Well now that the Holidays have slowed down I can finally get our Christmas pictures on here. We had a great Christmas! Papa and Gra came down and will now be living in Utah, which we are very excited about! We spent Christmas Eve with them and went to Green River to spend with Papa and Gra Shelly. This is what we did over the weekend. We started off with the homecoming Parade. Aylah was really funny because when they would throw candy at her she would get it and throw it back! It was pretty cold though, only in Wyoming do you go to a parade with your winter jackets on! Then on Saturday we took the kids to Chuck E Cheese's they had so much fun!

Aylah loves babies and purses. My mom says that she remindes her of a little old lady carrying her purse around with those little steps . We went to Park City over Labor Day and went into a little toy shop and the minute Aylah saw these babies she had to have them. She grabbed two of them and started walking out of the store. She is so stinkin' cute!!!

I can't believe that he is going to preschool! He was so excited to get his backpack on and go to school. He goes Tuesday's and Thursday's from 9:00-11:30. I must say though I wasn't sad for him to go. It was so nice to have a few hours with Aylah and she even took a nap while he was gone. When I picked him up and asked him what he did he said "I played in the dirt!" Then he told me about the rest of his day. However I'm sure when Kindergarten comes I will be a blubbering mess!

I haven't updated our blog in a while so I thought I better get after it! I can't even blame it on having a busy summer because we haven't done all that much. We did go camping up in Lava Hot Springs and of course the very first time we go and sleep in a tent it rains and is 40 degrees WHAT! But we still had a lot of fun. The kids loved camping! However for some reason I left the camera in the car so it wouldn't get lost in the tent so I have no pictures of our first camping trip :( But here are some pictures of the kids and of course Daisy.

Gettin' a Haircut and a puppy!

When we got back from N.D we had to go pick up our new puppy and get Aylah's haircut! Our puppy is a schnorkie-schnauzer and Yorkie mix. She is so cute and tiny! We named her Daisy and she has been lots of fun! She will get to be between 5-7 pounds. We got Aylah's haircut at a place in Utah called Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids it is the cutest place to send your kids to get their haircut! If you haven't gone there you should definitely go! The kids get to watch movies sit in cars, elephants, etc and have the best smelling hair stuff...shampoo that smells like bananas conditioner that smells like pineapple and hairspray that smells like vanilla (they have lots of flavors)! I would definitely recommend it!

On Tuesday, June 23 we got an unexpected phone call that Arlin's Grandfather, whom Arlin is named after, was not expected to make it through the night. So I went and got Arlin from work, packed and headed for our 16 hour journey. Arlin's sister and her family followed us there. We finally got there on Wednesday afternoon, Eben had to pee every half hour the last leg of it! Arlin got to talk with his Grandfather and he passed on Saturday morning. Even though we were there for that we ended up having a really great time. I had never met his father's side of the family so that was fun meeting everyone. Arlin's family tree is more like a shrub let's see if you can keep up...Arlin's Grapa and his cousin married sisters, then Arlin's dad and his first cousin married sister (of another family) again. So Arlin's uncle is also his second cousin! HAHA and Arlin's dad his Brother-in-Law is also his first cousin! Make sense?! It has taken me a long time to figure it all out and I'm still not 100% on it! We had a really great time, except for the tornado which I haven't been in since I left Indiana!

We finally got our sod today! And as you can see it made a BIG difference to our house! We were suppose to have the sod on May 29, but after calling and rescheduling 3 different time it finally made it today! We had lots of help and are very grateful for it! So our outside projects are now complete!

Aylah has been working at walking and tonight she finally got it! She has never taken more than 1 step and falls on her bum. But tonight Arlin was working with her and she took her first steps to her daddy, just like Eben. She is getting so big and we love watching her grow!

Project 1 Concrete

This is a very busy month for us and our outside projects. First, we have added concrete onto our driveway and formed a patio. Next weekend, we will be doing the sprinkler system. Finally, we will be getting sod at the end of the month! So here are the pictures of the first project-concrete. Arlin and our neighbor made the forms and Arlin did the finishing. Eben's favorite part was the "concrete pouring truck" he has talked about it for days!

Dear Arlin,

This is what happens when you do not put Aylah to sleep! I tried to get her to take a nap for 2 hours and she did nothing but scream at the top of her lungs (Eben even had to cover his ears)! So I decided to give up so she played for a little bit then I decided to make her a sandwich and hop in the shower. Eben came into the bathroom and said, "Mommy, I think sister is asleep!". So I went to check on her and the poor thing had to put herself to sleep. Do you remember when I was pregnant and I always had to put Eben to bed and you said to me, "I hope this one likes me!" well your wish came true. She will not go to sleep unless you are there to rock her. She is definitely a daddy's girl! However, I must thank you for getting up in the night to put her back to sleep because when I do it we are up for hours instead of minutes. You truly are a wonderful husband and father!

Celebrating Aylah's Birthday!

We decided that since we had our family here for Easter that we would have our little family birthday party for Aylah. We will be doing another one on her birth date which is next wednesday, April 15, so watch for pictures then! I made the cupcakes which took me about 6 hours (long story short I wanted them to be swirly and it just wouldn't work so I looked on YouTube and found a tutorial on how to make them look like flowers that took me 15 min to do...frustrating!). Also you will notice that her hair is a little silly because she took her bow out and Arlin put it somewhere and then couldn't remember where he put it! But she had lots of fun!

Last Saturday we decided to take the kids to the Hogle Zoo! It was 75 degrees in Salt Lake! We just could not pass up a day like that! This was Aylah's first time at the zoo and she really liked it. Eben's favorite part was riding on the train through the zoo and the elephants. We had a really great weekend!

BBQ with the Fackrell's!

Last Friday was beautiful, so we decided to have a BBQ with our neighbors. Their yard is way cooler than ours (they have grass)! Eben loves playing with their little girls. They jumped on the tramp, played in the playhouse, and maybe ate their dinner. It was a lot of fun!

If you haven't noticed but Aylah's "bangs" are always in her eyes! I really didn't want to cut her hair until she was 1, but I got really tired of them, so I cut her hair! She did really good until the very end when I was trying to make sure they were straight, so just like all little kids they are a little crooked. And yes I saved the trimmings in a little sack. Much better don't ya think?! Now my baby looks like a big girl.

Already pulling herself up!

So I just posted a few weeks ago that Aylah was crawling, well now she is standing. She pulls herself up and walks along the couch! I wasn't expecting her to grow up so fast!

Update on Aylah's Speech

The day after I posted about Aylah's speech she decided to start babbling! She said la la la for several days, then today she said ma ma ma! I cannot even explain how happy we are to hear her sweet little voice!

Aylah is crawling! I thought that it was never going to happen because it took her so long to be able to sit. However, she has mastered crawling! She now is into all of Eben's things and she especially loves to get his sippies, which he hates!

Aylah is now doing Speech Therapy twice a month. To catch you up... Aylah had tubes put in on Halloween when she was 6 months. This is why she was not sitting well because her balance was off from all the fluid in her ears. So, after a few month I still had not noticed any improvements in her speech; no babbling or anything. We took her to an audiologist and to CDC (Child Development Center) and they evaluated her and it was determined that she needed Speech Therapy twice a month. She is still is not babbling very well, she doesn't put a consonant with a vowel. We took her again to the audiologist and she told us that she has very good hearing, she is just delayed from not being able to hear for 6 months. She loves her therapist and they have lots of fun. We are trying to teach her some sign language so that she will be able to have her needs met.

She is such a fun baby and we feel very blessed to have her in our lives!

Makin' A Mess!

I made chicken pot pie one night and we put it on a plate to see how she would do, and as you can see she licked the platter clean. It was everywhere in her hair, face, nose, just everywhere! The pictures just don't do justice on how messy she was!

Valentine's Day Fun

It snowed here on Valentine's Day and Eben wanted to go outside and play. It was really funny to watch him climb the big hill and slide down. He loves to play in the snow! Eben got a new Thomas the Train movie and some chocolate and Aylah got a little puppy and some shortbread cookies for Valentine's Day. I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day so Arlin and I don't get each other anything. However, he did run me a hot bubble bath and took the kids so that I could read a book in a nice, peaceful bath.

E-he had low glucose and had to have an iv and had jaundice a few days later. Oh don't forget colic and reflux!
A-she was having a hard time breathing because she took her first breath when they where pulling her out so she had a lot of blood in her lungs (sorry that was kinda gross). She also had jaundice (not as bad as Eben) and reflux!

Santa came to Story Hour on Thursday. Eben is very skeptical of Santa. His first encounter with the man in red was at the ward Christmas party and he screamed! He met him again at the Lyman Craft Fair and he would not sit on his lap but did talk to him. This time we got a picture of it (Thank you Gina) of Eben visiting with Santa. Eben told him that he wanted Thomas Car Wash aka the Train Wash with Percy and Tracks.

Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania

We went to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving this year. We stayed for 10 days and had lots of fun! We went out to Lancaster County-Amish country almost everyday! I think that it is amazing how they do not rely on wordly things. One day we took Eben to a train museum and rode on a real short line train and had lunch on it. Eben though it was very cool!! We had a great Thanksgiving and a great vacation.

I can't even believe that Eben had his 3rd birthday party! However, we had lots of fun! We had his party on Saturday but he will officially turn 3 on Tuesday. His party was Thomas the Train theme. I made the cakes and Grandma Shelly and Arlin decorated them. We had a big Thomas the Train then all of the kids had their own little train car to eat. When we sang Happy Birthday, Eben sang it to himself-"Happy Birthday dear Eben" it was really cute. I added a slideshow at the bottom of the page.

Trip to the Mountains

Logan and Auntie Jenn came for the weekend so we got some pictures of the boys in their jammies and hats! Don't they look cute! Aylah also got pajamas but her's were way to big! Grandma also brought back pearls for mommy, Aylah, and Jenn and lots of other trinkets! We also got the first picture of Papa and all three of his Grandkids! Logan (3) Aylah (5months) and Eben (2)!

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Eben got 2 kites, a Thomas kite and a real Chinese Dragon kite. So we tried them out. The Thomas kite flew much better than the Dragon (mostly because mom was worried about breaking the Dragon kite). It was lots of fun, especially for Arlin!

Evanston Airshow

A couple of weekends ago we went to the Evanston Airshow, it was our first airshow. It was pretty cool! They had a couple of old war planes and an acrobatic Russian training plane (the red plane). I was told that the green plane is only 1 of 2 still in existence! They also had some parachuters (barf!) is all I could think about!

Eben thought that they were really cool and loud! He was entertained the whole 2 hours and kept saying, "Mommy look at that airplane!". It would be fun to go to another larger show, maybe next year we will find one to go to.

We went to see Logan and Auntie Jenn in August for the weekend. It was lots of fun! The boys played really good, as long as they were outside!

Aylah's Blessing

We had Aylah's Blessing on June 6, 2008 and she was the most beautiful baby girl that I had ever seen. I am probably a little bias but

Baby Girl Moen

As most of you know we had a new addition to our family-Aylah Kathleen Moen. She was born April 15, 2008, she was about 4 weeks early. Even though she was early she was a healthy 6 lbs. 14 oz. and born at 3:43 by cesarean (not fun for mom!). She is such a wonderful, happy baby, even though she has reflux just like her brother. She had a tough time gaining weight and was on medication 3 times a day for the reflux but was still a happy baby. She is doing wonderful now and is gaining weight properly and only takes her medication once a day. We took her to a Chiropractor and a Message Therapist and I believe that it is why she is doing so well. We are so greatful for her to be in our family and her brother absolutely adores her. He is such a big help and is always concerned about her.
